About.
One day I perused to figure out if Pi (π)
or Tau (τ)
were the constant number relating the circumference of a circle to its linear
dimension. Indeed, both are the most important numbers in mathematics, the
interesting thing is that while searching, I found a delightful web page [1], which returns a sequence of numbers that I typed in randomness appear
the first time at which position in the sequence π
.
I remember as a child, I was taught that π
is a special number
— it is infinite and non-cyclical. Growing up, when I was exposed to programming,
I learned that everything in the universe can be represented in numbers [2] (how wonderful!).
The greatest virtue of man is perhaps curiosity
— Anatole France.
That curiosity prompted me to ask the question: "If I were represented in those numbers, what would I be?" For simplicity I choose my date of birth as a test, "me" first appears
in position 51,130,668
and in the first 200M digits of π
"me" also appears only twice. iktp
— this site name —
is the textual representation of the number "me" in the series.
iktp
appears as a form of my being on the Internet, you can follow
here my journey of working on personal projects and finding the interesting
knowledge I have gained while wandering on the Internet. And the productivity
tools I built to help myself (and hopefully you too).
